In Search of the Lost Glenlivet Distillery

Join David Newland for a Sunday morning walk in GlenAvon.  The walk will explore the area to the south of Tomintoul following the paths and tracks in GlenAvon and may include a visit to the Ailnack Gorge (weather permitting). David is a wildlife expert with an interest in both the Flora and Fauna.  He is also a local historian and he will guide you along the route where you will hopefully discover the historic site of the lost Glenlivet Distillery.  There will be time to stop along the route to take in the views and enjoy a dram or 2 on the way.  The walk will end at the Clockhouse Restaurant in Tomintoul with a soup and sandwich lunch which is included in the ticket price.

The event includes transport from Dufftown and return.

The walk will be about 5 Kms and will not be too strenuous. Stout footwear is essential and suitable outdoor clothing is recommended, as the weather at this time of the year can be inclement. If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact Steve Oliver the event organiser (01340-881616).

All the proceeds from this event after costs will be donated to the Dufftown 2000 Whisky and Heritage Centre project.

This event has already taken place.

Please come again next year.
